Walsall FC Complete Travel Guide – 2026-27 Season

ℹ️ 2026-27 Season Guide: Walsall have been granted planning permission to redevelop the B.A.T. Stand, which would raise capacity to 13,500 and expand the away allocation to up to 4,000 – though there’s no firm timescale for this yet. All information has been researched and verified for 2026-27. Always check saddlers.co.uk for the latest ticketing and matchday updates before you travel.

⚽ ABOUT THE BESCOT STADIUM

The Bescot Stadium – currently the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium for sponsorship reasons – has been home to Walsall FC since August 1990, when the club moved from its long-time home at Fellows Park, a quarter of a mile away and now the site of a Morrisons supermarket.

Opened by the legendary Sir Stanley Matthews, the stadium has a capacity of 11,300, all-seated, with the Tile Choice Stand and Community Stand running along the touchlines.

One of the ground’s most genuinely useful features is its own dedicated railway station, right next to the stadium – the only ground in League Two with this distinction. The ground sits directly next to the M6, making it one of the most visible stadiums in the country to passing motorists.

Walsall FC – The Saddlers, reflecting the town’s historic saddle-making trade – were founded in 1888 as Walsall Town Swifts.

The club’s record attendance of 11,049 was set in May 2004 against Rotherham United. Walsall have spent most of their history shuttling between the third and fourth tiers, with their fanbase widely regarded as knowledgeable and welcoming to visiting supporters.

The atmosphere at Bescot is generally described as relaxed rather than intimidating, though the corners of the ground help generate a genuinely decent noise on a good day. Now settled in League Two after just missing out on the 2025-26 play-offs, the Saddlers retain a loyal, long-suffering fanbase hoping for a return to League One.
