⚽ ECO-POWER STADIUM ⚽
Doncaster Rovers – Complete Travel Guide
🏟️ ABOUT THE ECO-POWER STADIUM
The Eco-Power Stadium (formerly known as the Keepmoat Stadium) has been Doncaster Rovers’ modern home since 2007, replacing the much-loved Belle Vue ground. Located on Stadium Way in the Lakeside area of Doncaster, this 15,231-capacity venue is part of a modern sports complex that includes rugby league and athletics facilities. The stadium features four identical stands, creating a symmetrical bowl design: the West Stand (main stand), East Stand (away section), North Stand, and South Stand.
Built with sustainability in mind, the Eco-Power Stadium represents modern football stadium design with excellent facilities, good sightlines throughout, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Whilst it lacks the character of Belle Vue, the modern amenities and convenient location make it a comfortable away-day destination. The stadium is shared with Doncaster RLFC (rugby league), adding to the community sporting hub atmosphere.
Doncaster Rovers – Donny or The Rovers – were founded in 1879, making them one of England’s oldest football clubs. The club has a rich history, including League Division Three North champions (1935, 1947, 1950), Football League Trophy winners (2007), and Conference champions (2003). Rovers spent many years in the lower divisions but enjoyed a memorable period in League One and Championship football in the late 2000s and early 2010s.
The famous red-and-white hooped shirts are iconic in South Yorkshire football. Belle Vue, their home from 1922 to 2006, was a proper old-school ground that fans still remember fondly. The rivalry with Rotherham United creates the South Yorkshire Derby, whilst matches against Scunthorpe and Barnsley also generate local passion. Doncaster Rovers represent a proud working-class heritage in a traditional South Yorkshire industrial town. The club’s community focus and family atmosphere make it a welcoming destination for away fans.
